HOW IT WORKS

From a thousand bills to the ones that matter

One workflow from the day a bill drops to the day it takes effect: triage, track, act, and follow through.

01

Every bill, one queue

Search, filter, and triage every bill of the session by status, subject, or code title. Saved views route what matters to the right reviewers, with no more spreadsheet handoffs.

02

Plain English, not legalese

AI reads every bill and answers the three questions that matter: what it does, who is affected, and why it matters to your organization, with key provisions cited to the bill text.

03

Catch every change

Bills mutate. CivicRelay diffs each new version against the last, highlights exactly what changed, and alerts the assigned reviewer, down to the struck-through line.

04

Act on your position

Turn approved positions into outreach: AI-drafted talking points, the sponsors and leadership to contact, and tracked follow-through until the bill is implemented.

QUESTIONS

Straight answers

What does CivicRelay do?

CivicRelay tracks every bill in a state legislative session, uses AI to explain what each bill does and who it affects, and routes the ones that matter to the right people in your organization. Reviewer responses roll up into an official position, and bills that pass become implementation action items.

Who is CivicRelay for?

Cities, towns, counties, special districts, state agencies, and associations — any organization that needs to know what a legislature is doing and coordinate a response across departments.

Which states does CivicRelay cover?

Utah today. Coverage is built one state at a time, so adding a legislature is a matter of connecting its data — sessions and calendars differ by state. If you track a different statehouse, tell us and we'll add it.

Can we trust the AI summaries?

Every AI interpretation of bill text carries a citation to the provision it came from, and the official bill text is always one click away. Answers in bill Q&A are labelled as stated explicitly in the bill, inferred, or not available — so you can see when the model is reasoning rather than quoting. It is decision support, not legal advice.

What happens when a bill is amended?

CivicRelay diffs each new version against the previous one, highlights exactly what changed, and rates how significant the change is. When it's substantive, the assigned reviewer is notified to look again — so a rewrite doesn't slip past on a bill you already cleared.

How much does CivicRelay cost?

Annual pricing based on organization size: $5,000/year for 1–249 employees, $7,500/year for 250–400, and $15,000/year for 401 or more. Every feature is included in every plan. Negotiated pricing is available for large municipalities, associations, and multi-organization agreements.

Does CivicRelay replace our lobbyist?

No — it replaces the spreadsheet. Your staff and your lobbyist work from the same picture: what's moving, what it does to you, the position you've taken, and who has already been contacted.
